When the Supervisor Review setting is turned on for a department, runs without errors that have been submitted for finalization by the record owner and have also passed Validation are automatically routed for Supervisor Review.
The review process enforces the department's interpretation of a proper chart for medical and billing documentation and ensures a level of completeness beyond Business Rules. Runs in Supervisor Review status do not export until they (1) are released by a designated reviewer or (2) remain unreviewed for a specified period of time.
Run records in Supervisor Review can be sent back to the record owner for corrections or an addendum. If such revisions are not required, the run can move to the next stage of review or become finalized.
Regardless of the need for edits, run records can only remain in Supervisor Review for 360 hours, or 15 days. If a record reaches the limit, it is automatically converted to a Finalized ePCR.
However, records in Corrections are not subject to the same timeout threshold as those in Pending Review. The timeout threshold set by your department—at a maximum, 15 days—does not apply to records in Corrections. When the record moves from Corrections back to Pending Review, the countdown restarts.
Note: If QA Review is not enabled for your department and an ePCR moves out of Supervisor Review, either by approval or extending beyond the timeout threshold, the run is finalized and no further corrections or addendums can be added.
To configure Supervisor Review for your department
From any page, go to Administration: System Settings.
On the System Settings page, click the Other tab.
Locate the Supervisor Review section and, for Supervisor Review, select On.
Configure the remaining Supervisor Review settings as desired. See Manage Other Settings for more information.
Once Supervisor Review is configured for your department, the Department Supervisor group must be assigned to any user who needs to perform a Supervisor Review. See Manage Users to learn about assigning users to groups.
All users have the ability to perform corrections and add addenda as directed by a supervisor and therefore do not require additional assignments.
Note: Corrections can only be made in CDX. Only a list of run records in Corrections can be seen in TripTix Windows.
